Just wanted to say that I visit this forum every single day and find it disappointing that most of the people who've registered never post. Please share, or comment. It helps keep this board alive.

Just wanted to say that I visit this forum every single day and find it disappointing that most of the people who've registered never post. Please share, or comment. It helps keep this board alive. Hello - My name is Liz and I just joined the forum today, so I would also be interested in seeing a lot of involvement. I'll introduce myself here. I am reading the 5:2 book and just pre-ordered the recipe book due to be released for sale in early July, 2013 (Amazon, of course). I only started a week ago, and am actually doing a variation of the 5:2 as a start. After witnessing my friend lose about 30 pounds in the past 4 months, I asked him what he was doing and he told me about Dr. Mosley and the IF idea. He is actually doing the alternate day fasting and is having a lot of success (every other day, rather than 5 feast, 2 fast days). I have been doing Weight Watchers with some success since January, but don't want to continue to pay for it. So, I thought I would give this a try, and I hope to adapt this diet as a way of life. I am doing alternate day, too, but will likely move to 5:2 as I read about more people's successes. The first 5 days I lost 3 pounds, but now have lost nothing more. I am in it for the health behefits as well as the weight loss, so I am prepared for what could possibly be a slow weight loss. I have a lot to lose, and it took me years to put it on, so I can give myself time to take it off. I will check back frequently and look forward to more posters and posts! - Liz

I've been doing this fabulous diet for 3 months so far. I am diabetic so my weight lose is a bit slower then most....but I am losing slow but sure on this diet without feeling like I am actually "dieting". I love this diet. Yes is it slow...but it is "doable"...which is all I've ever been looking for. Hope to see you posting in the future. Thanks for stopping by.

Just hit the 30 pound mark today. I don't think I could have lost those 30 pounds any other way. I'm glad to have finally found a way to lose weight. I have a lot more to go, but I believe I will lose it. I started mid-March, and do 3 - 4 fasting days per week, sometimes all consecutive. My two life saving foods are Magic Puffs (15 calories each...kind of like a BIG crispy tostada but puffy) and Kroger brand Carbmaster Yogurt...only 60 calories. I'm basically a low carber, but had stalled for a LONG time. Even on my fast days I try to keep carbs to a minimum and use a lot of veggies and fewer fruits (except berries), just because of the carbs. I'm looking forward to sharing recipes and meal ideas on this board.

You don't want to deprive your body for too long of needed nutrients. I wish I could be losing that fast but 2 days is enough for me. I've only lost 11 lbs Since April. I am diabetic and insulin resistant so I think for me it's double hard to get this weight off. Never heard of Magic Puffs...you must be in the UK.

Hi Barbara, I'm in Texas. I just goofed! They are called Magic Pops or Kim's Magic Pops, not puffs. I eat them every day and never paid much attention to the package. You can do a search and buy them online, or buy them at Central Market if you're near one. Good luck to you, I know it's hard! Been struggling my whole life, but low carb has at least kept me super healthy, so the combo with 5 2 works for me.
